The OSCE stands for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. It has 57 States from Europe, Central Asia and North America.

The (OSCE) full form Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe is the world’s largest security-oriented intergovernmental organization of Europe, Central Asia and North America states. With 57 participating States in North America, Europe and Asia, the OSCE is the world’s largest regional security organization. The OSCE works for stability, peace and democracy for more than a billion people, through political dialogue about shared values and through practical work that makes a lasting difference.

What is OSCE?

The OSCE has a comprehensive approach to security that encompasses politico-military, economic and environmental, and human aspects. It therefore addresses a wide range of security-related concerns, including arms control, confidence- and security-building measures, human rights, national minorities, democratization, policing strategies, counter-terrorism and economic and environmental activities. All 57 participating States enjoy equal status, and decisions are taken by consensus on a politically, but not legally binding basis.
