The Dasu Dam is a large hydroelectric gravity dam currently under construction on the Indus River near Dasu in Kohistan District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It is a hydroelectric project being built on the Indus River in the Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. The project is located approximately 350 km north of the country’s capital, Islamabad, and about 74 km upstream of the Basha Dam. The construction of the dam started in 2017, and it is expected to be completed by 2028. Once completed, the dam will have an installed capacity of 4,320 megawatts, making it one of the largest hydropower projects in the country. The project is being developed by the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) of Pakistan with the assistance of the World Bank.
